Carnosaur is a 2019 fan-fiction novel written by Maurice Charles. It's a rewrite of the novel by the late Michael Crichton. It's a rewrite of Carnosaur novel by Harry Adam Knight and add some elements from Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Carnosaur is the first novel of a trilogy based on the movies & based on the original novel with some new elements for this version.

According to the data of the story, Carnosaur presumably takes place in 2005.
There are two main plots in the story. The history of the zoo seen in the original novel is one of the two plots. The other plot is new and original one for this one.
Many dinosaurs were replaced from their original versions. Some examples are Plesiosaurus, Dilophosaurus and Scolosaurus, replaced by Hydrotherosaurus, Sinosaurus and Loricatosaurus.
It's mentioned that Penward's scientists were planning to clone prehistoric creatures that aren't dinosaurs. This probably is a reference or nod to Jurassic Park: Builder.
